Absolutely yes! You can have therapy from the comfort of home, leaning back in your favourite armchair – a familiar environment is always more relaxing. There is no travelling or trying to find a parking space, and no sitting in unfamiliar therapy rooms. Some of my clients have had agoraphobia, and being able to stay in familiar home environment has really enhanced their hypnotherapy experience.
You do need to have a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted, and you will need access to online platforms and a camera. You can work from wherever suits you, although I don’t recommend using a bedroom – simply because your brain associates the bed with falling asleep and you may drift off…
I work with zoom and, as a back-up (technology can be unpredictable) I use whats app, which a couple of my clients have actually preferred. If you are going to use whats app please charge your phone first – you don’t want to be dropping out during the most relaxing moments!
I use exactly the same session format, language pattern and techniques as I would if you were in person, and the Hypnotherapy Bodies with which I am a member are stringent with their Codes of Ethics. I work from a designated study, with a visible lockable cabinet…and rather a lot of houseplants!
If you aren’t too confident with technology you can use my free Initial Consultation as a trial run to see how comfortable you feel with linking in. Once you’re linked in…just relax!
