About me

Four years ago I started Counselling training, which included Hypnotherapy as a resource tool.  On the very first day our Tutor demonstrated a Hypnotherapy session and I was amazed …straight away I could see the benefits and, the more I studied, the more I wanted to learn.  I later decided to step away from the Counselling route and, instead, take a more advanced Hypnotherapy qualification.  I now have a vocation I truly love, and which I am passionate about.

I am now qualified in Solution-focused as well as Suggestion Hypnotherapy, and I can blend both styles, although I mainly focus on the Solution-focused approach as I have seen how effective it can be, and because it is supported by neuroscience.  I have experience working with issues including anxiety, stress, weight loss, phobias, stopping smoking, singing confidence, Trauma, PTSD, chronic pain management, workplace anxiety, imposter syndrome and depression.

Three  years spent as a Samaritan taught me the value of active listening and focusing on my client, and I have been privileged to have helped people during what may have been the lowest points in their lives.   I have several years of experience as a Pet Bereavement Counsellor and Mental Health First Aider and I also have over twenty six years experience in working with vulnerable adults and teenagers; there won’t be much I haven’t heard, nothing will faze me, and I have had a valuable insight into anger issues, anxiety, mental health issues, debt, addiction, the impact of crime and much, much more.  I’ve also learnt to work with humour and positivity.

My style is eclectic; as well as using a solution-focused approach, I am trained in Counselling, CBT, DBT, NLP, Depression Counselling, and much more, and I am super-experienced with understanding neurodiversity, particularly ADHD, Dyspraxia and what would originally have been termed Asperger’s Syndrome.

In my spare time I love hill walking and singing; I currently sing with four choirs.  I also continue to volunteer as a pet bereavement counsellor – this is where I can give back.

Many of the issues that my clients bring are issues that I have experienced myself; however I still firmly believe that the world is an amazing place, and we all have potential to live our best life.  My sessions are based on positivity, I can promise empathy, understanding and confidentiality and I will do all I can to work collaboratively with you, and to help you to move towards the life you deserve.

I am fully insured and hold enhanced DBS for working with Adults and Children.
